Metric Bio are partnered with a top 10 MedTech company within the Cardiology space, as we look for a Software Engineering Manager to lead a high performing team of around 6-8 Software Engineers.
This team’s primary activities are to define software requirements and design, implement the software, and test the software using various testing approaches. Throughout this process, the software engineering manager oversees the efficient, high-quality design and implementation of this critical medical device software.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides management and technical guidance to professional employees.
Strong hands-on capabilities in software development and skills in Linux, C++, Networking and Cybersecurity.
Responsible for recruiting, coaching, and developing organizational talent including active participation in local universities internship program.
Fosters a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
Responsible for providing direction and guidance to software group keeping in mind individual’s career growth objectives and business priorities.
Keeps the organization's vision and values at the forefront of decision making.
Demonstrates effective change leadership.
Builds strategic partnerships with other groups to further departmental and organizational objectives.
Monitors compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. compliance with FDA, BSI, MDR).
Makes decisions regarding work processes or operational plans and schedules in order to achieve department objectives.
Responsible for providing input into the annual budget for the department.
Requirements:
BS/MS in Computer Science/Electrical engineering or equivalent experience, with a strong software development background.
Hands-on working knowledge with Linux, C++, Networking and Cybersecurity.
Minimum 3 years of experience, directly managing and developing Software Engineers.
Experience developing product software compliant with IEC 62304 standards.
Knowledge of Lean/Agile concepts.
Knowledge of software engineering methods and tools (structured development, thread management, static analysis, unit/integration/verification testing).
Ability to develop partnerships with cross-functional areas within and outside of product development.
Design Controls expertise with particular focus on requirements, design, verification, and traceability.
