GIS Analyst I

Tukman Geospatial is hiring a qualified candidate to support numerous vegetation mapping projects in California. As a GIS Analyst I, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our mission to provide accurate and actionable vegetation maps for natural resource management in California.
The candidate will use ArcGIS to edit vegetation maps using aerial imagery and other GIS datasets as reference. The position also includes some field validation work, including GPS data collection and on-site verification of vegetation types, to corroborate map accuracy. Other responsibilities include some cartography and GIS data processing tasks including data conversion and QA/QC.
The ideal candidate is a hard-working team member who is interested in the distribution of vegetation across the landscape.
This position is on-site, at our offices in Berkeley, CA.
Required Technical Skills:
Demonstrated proficiency in ArcGIS Pro with experience in creating, editing, and managing spatial data layers
A strong background in natural resources, botany, forestry, ecology, or a related field, with a particular focus on Californian ecosystems
Some experience with python preferred
Ability to work independently with little supervision and as a member of a team
