As a Qualcomm Security Engineering intern , you’ll have the opportunity to work with world-class security engineers to improve the security of Qualcomm systems and products that are the core of billions of mobile, IoT and connectivity devices that people use every day. The scope of work covers the entire stack of device security, ranging from hardware, firmware, systems, OTA (Over-The-Air) stacks and applications.
Depending on your interest and academic experience, the choice of your intern project could be from one of the focused areas such as threat modeling and security risk assessment on hardware/software subsystems, fuzzing, program analysis (source and binary), exploit countermeasures, applied cryptographic assessment, 4G/5G cellular security, systems security, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth security, software supply chain security, hardware-based side-channel attack mitigations, and product security incident response. During the internship, you will gain experience and insight on protecting real world devices against attacks.
Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a BS, MS, or PhD program in computer security or a related field
Must be available for 11 – 14 weeks during Summer 2024 (May-September) with a graduation date of December 2024 or later
Successful candidates will have experience in one or more of the following Security Engineering technical tracks:
Product Security Engineering
Skills in one or more of the following areas are desired: program analysis (source and binary), supply chain security, hardware/software vulnerability research, hardware/software exploit mitigations, secure execution environment, hardware security, 4G/5G cellular security, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth security
1+ years’ academic experience in computer systems security or embedded device security
Great at technical problem solving and have excellent programming skills
Secure Systems (Security) Engineering
Candidates should have good knowledge of Wireless/Computer Networking, System Security, and Operating Systems.
Great at technical problem solving and have excellent programming skills
Strong interest in Ethical Hacking and Cyber Security
1+ years’ academic experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
