The Role:

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in guiding our software development team to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business objectives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with ETL (extract transform load) processes, API development, serverless architecture, microservices, Docker containers, Kubernetes, and proficiency in programming languages such as Java and Node.js. You will write, troubleshoot, and debug applications. You will be responsible for maintaining and updating production level code. You will be responsible for driving the software engineering team forward in meeting business and technology goals in a robust and secure manner. We are looking for an energetic professional who is passionate about making a difference.

You will join a small collaborative team and will need to have an in-depth understanding of data, software, processes, and effective leadership. You will report to the Chief Software Architect.

While this is a hybrid position, you will have the opportunity to work remote primarily.

Responsibilities:

1. Leadership:

· Lead and mentor a team of software developers, providing technical guidance and support.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement software development best practices.

· Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.

· Work collaboratively with the Chief Software Architect to provide the best technical solutions.

2. Architecture and Design:

· Design, implement, and maintain scalable and efficient software architecture.

· Evaluate and recommend suitable technologies, frameworks, and tools for development projects.

· Ensure the architecture supports the company's long-term business goals.

· Work collaboratively with the Chief Software Architect on architecture proposals and updates.

3. Development:

· Hands-on coding and development using Java and Node.js.

· Oversee the development of ETL processes, APIs, and microservices.

· Implement and manage serverless architectures for optimal efficiency.

· Work with DevOps for proper deployment strategies and security.

· Actively participate in code reviews and deployments.

4. Containerization and Orchestration:

· Experience with Docker containers for packaging and deploying applications.

· Knowledge of Kubernetes for container orchestration and scaling.

5. Quality Assurance:

· Implement and enforce coding standards and best practices.

· Write unit and integration tests in the code repository.

· Collaborate with QA teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.

6. Continuous Integration and Deployment:

· Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate the software delivery process.

· Ensure timely and reliable deployment of software updates.

7. Monitoring and Optimization:

· Implement monitoring and logging solutions for applications and infrastructure.

· Identify and address performance bottlenecks and optimize system performance.

8. Documentation:

· Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for software solutions.

· Ensure knowledge transfer within the team for sustainable development practices.

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

8+ years of professional experience in software development.

Proven experience in leading and managing software development teams.

Strong proficiency in Java and Node.js.

Extensive experience with ETL processes, API development, and microservices architecture.

In-depth knowledge of serverless architecture, Docker containers, and Kubernetes.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
