Julius Silvert is a Full Line Specialty Food Distributor currently hiring a Purchasing Manager to join our growing team. For over 100 years, our fourth-generation family-owned business has proudly served customers along the East Coast while growing our organization and valuing all team members. We're looking for someone who has purchasing expertise within a fast-paced food distribution environment. The Purchasing Manager will liaise between Purchasing, Operations, and Sales to drive operational efficiencies. We are looking for a detail-oriented, systematic, well-organized team player. Responsibilities:Organize & scale the company's earned income effortsHold vendors accountable to newly implemented operational processes and systemsPartner with sales to monitor and manage aged inventoryServe as liaison between sales and purchasing to vet all new item requestsCo-manage the efforts of the Purchasing Coordinator specific to inbound freight, backhauls, and time-sensitive requestsMaintain records, spreadsheets, supporting documentation, and files regarding supplier activities, programs, and profilesResolve product supply issues by working across operations and buying teams directly with vendorsMonitor documentation for item setup and input data and pricing into the company system
Qualifications:5+ years of experience within a food distribution environment requiredEarned income, contract, and/or freight experience strongly preferredExperience managing teamsStrong knowledge and use of Microsoft Office ToolsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment with constant changesMust be able to communicate with personnel at all levels of the organization including ownership
