The mission of the Transportation Risk & Compliance (TRC) team is to provide timely and accurate compliance and transport regulatory support to Amazon Transportation Businesses and its carriers, in a dynamic, ever-growing environment. We are currently seeking a TRC Risk Manager who possesses exceptional judgment, communication skills, and a background in transportation. In this role, you will be responsible for championing process excellence for the US region’s transportation audit and monitoring, ensuring our operations are efficient, effective, and exemplary. Key responsibilities include owning development of mechanisms for audit / monitoring, specifically focusing on transportation, to ensure compliance to program polices, federal regulatory requirements and operational integrity. The ideal candidate will demonstrate outstanding written and verbal communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, a data-driven mindset, and the ability to effectively manage stakeholders while earning the trust of our carrier partners. Key job responsibilities

• Champion process excellence for the US region’s transportation audit and monitoring, ensuring our operations are efficient, effective, and exemplary

• Develop and implement regular value stream maps through collaboration with peers, leaders, and stakeholders to visualize and enhance the flow of processes, identify bottlenecks, and streamline operations for maximum efficiency

• Drive the optimization and productivity of team resources, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance to achieve superior outputs

• Collaborate across all departments to implement holistic improvements, enhancing metrics, tools, methodologies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

A day in the life

The Risk & Compliance Manager will work collaboratively with the business, compliance, legal, finance, and human resource teams to implement world-class, customer-centric, compliance and risk management tools and processes.

About the team

We provide Amazon’s transportation programs assurance that Amazon and our third-party managed network carriers operate in a manner compliant with highest risk transportation, contractual, legal, regulatory, and policy requirements. We drive adoption and implementation of pragmatic and scalable risk management solutions to enable business growth. We protect Amazon’s brand by partnering with internal and external teams to proactively measure leading risk indicators. We shape risk mitigation strategies with informed and data driven assessments.

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent

- Experience handling confidential information

Preferred Qualifications

- 3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience

- Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials

- Experience with SQL and Excel

- Fluent in at least one of the following languages: French, German, Italian, Polish, and Spanish

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
