About the role
We are a leading engineering firm in search of a Procurement Manager with a strong technical background and extensive international experience. The ideal candidate will be skilled in handling complex procurement activities, particularly with vendors in Asia, and potentially expanding to Europe and other regions.
What you'll do
Manage procurement processes from vendor selection and contract negotiation to performance evaluation, primarily with overseas vendors.
Collaborate closely with the Engineering department to ensure that technical specifications and quality standards are communicated and met by international vendors.
Utilize Odoo SCM to enhance procurement efficiency and ensure compliance with international inventory and supply chain management practices.
Ensure data integrity in the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system by maintaining up-to-date and accurate information on vendor/part data, purchase order delivery dates, costs, procurement lead times, lot sizes, and payment terms, enabling precise forecasting and strategic decision-making to optimize operational efficiency.
Develop and maintain vendor scorecards to monitor and improve vendor performance on a global scale.
Work with the Quality Control (QC) team to manage Non-Conformity Reports (NCRs) and hold vendors accountable for compliance with technical and quality standards.
Implement advanced planning and forecasting techniques to predict procurement needs, optimize inventory levels, and prepare for market changes.
Collaborate with all relevant teams (Engineering, QC, Logistics, Finance, …) to enhance forecasting accuracy and strategic planning, aiming to minimize shipping costs and reduce the overall cost of goods. This includes developing more efficient inventory management and procurement strategies to shift reliance away from expedited shipping methods.
Analyze procurement and market trends to prepare for expansions into new regions or markets.
Forecast international market trends and prepare the supply chain for potential expansions into new regions.
Provide leadership and development opportunities for the purchasing team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Manage new product quoting and sampling to ensure alignment with procurement strategies and technical specifications.
