AVP, Technology Cloud Strategy

Job Description:
The AVP, Technology Cloud Strategy leads a cross-functional team to identify gaps in our life cycle management, automation and turn up processes for our cloud-based infrastructure and make recommendations on gap closure. Drive operational efficiencies that deliver good performance at reasonable cost. Over the course of 12-18 months, identify steps to be taken to ensure solutions built on private cloud infrastructure evolve to take full advantage of next generation capabilities. Some examples that need to be evaluated and/or defined are:
• Repeatable process to validate Software enhancements / OS critical patches – e.g., to be tested on all hardware ODMs
• Repeatable process to validate firmware changes – Server (DCC), Management Switch (DCM), Fabric/Line card (DCF and DCP).
• Repeatable process to manage hardware Product Change Notification (PCNs)
• Process to address hardware failures
• Process to plan and manage end of life/end of support (EOL/EoS) across SW (NOS), Hardware, Optics, Server
• Repeatable/scalable processes to execute functional systems testing / Unit Testing / Scale characterization / Performance characterization – With Automation to alleviate repetition when parts of software changes
• Process for Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Support for hardware & warehousing / Spares Depot
• Repeatable process to do resizing of components
• Repeatable and scalable processes for MOP validation and update with scale/requirements changing
• Repeatable and scalable process to analyze Optical and electrical interconnect changes and characterization
• Processes related to the coordination of service contracts across disaggregated components to insure consistency (server, Mgmt switch, Fabric, NOS)
• Establish hardened, secure and reliable architecture
Skills/Experience:
- Experience leading cloud infrastructure management with a hyperscaler (e.g. AWS, Google, Microsoft)
- Good financial acumen with the ability to drive strategic technical outcomes that drive the greatest financial returns
- Comprehensive Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, networking storage systems and server architectures.
- Skills in designing and managing solutions that scale seamlessly and maintain high availability and reliability
- Proficiency in automating large scale systems using advanced tools and technologies.
- Lifecycle Management of cloud based solutions - Knowledge of the full lifecycle management of servers from deployment to decommissioning including using automated systems for updates and maintenance.
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines- Experience in implementing continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines
