Positioned up and they need resources ASAP
Important Skills: need a candidate with a background in Electronic Design Automation (EDA)- they dont have to be experts but they need familiarity with it.
6+ years of working experience as a Linux Administrator Operating Systems: Linux (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu) Version Control: SVN, GitLab Scripting and Automation: Bash, Python, Ansible Applications : SOS, Jira, Confluence.
EDA Applications: Knowledge of how EDA applications work and IBM LSF job scheduler Networking: TCP/IP, VLAN, DNS, Load Balancing and security concepts Database Maintenance: MySQL, PostgreSQL Monitoring and Performance: Linux monitoring tools, Syslog, SNMP Virtualization: VMware 7 and above and Citrix Storefront Storage: NFS and ISCSI storage concepts. Cronjobs and rsync functionality
Strong Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving with hands-on experience with hardware rack and stack Able to fit in with organization culture, many of the employees have been there long term.
• Western Digital runs a similar process/setup as OVT so candidates from there would be ideal. However other semiconductor companies would probably run something similar as well so targeting any of those. Think AMD, Intel, Broadcom, Nvidia, etc.
• EDA and Linux are both hard requirements since their EDA tools are in a Linux environment
• IBM LSF is required since that's what OVT uses. There are other similar schedulers but LSF is what they use so when they are asked about LSF questions they need to be able to answer
• Twitter & Paypal both use LSF so those 2 companies that have had recent layoffs would probably be good targets
• Not a must have, but if a person speaks Mandarin that could be a huge bonus since they are working with a Mandarin-speaking counterpart
