Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking an **Microbiology** **Lab Technician near Bedford Park, IL** .

**Temp to Hire**

**Shift:** 4 days out of the week on 1st shift (6am-4:30pm)

**Compensation:** $20-22/hr

Job Description: Primary Function Support the Laboratories by performing analytical tests independently and accurately. Meet the needs of internal and external customers in a safe and timely manner on process and product quality.

**Responsibilities:**

+ Perform microbiological tests independently and accurately as written in test procedures

+ Test samples are to be gathered and tested within expected time frame and stored as required.

+ Collect samples of incoming supplies, in-process samples, and finished products.

+ Perform non-routine procedures independently or with minimal supervision.

+ Maintain complete, accurate and legible test records, in accordance with Company policy and record keeping procedure.

+ Follow all safety and quality guidelines according to Good Laboratory Practices and lab safety requirements.

+ Keep work area clean and maintain a safe work environment.

+ Perform other work as assigned by laboratory management.

+ Provide support by maintaining a communication log and transfer information to lab personnel to continue supporting operations needs to meet customer requirements.

+ Assist in maintaining the validated state of the lab.

+ Assist in the maintenance of equipment, including routine maintenance and resolution of common or simple problems with instruments.

+ Work as part of a technical group in a multi-cultural and diverse work environment to accomplish a common goal.

**Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Food Science, Chemistry or related sciences.

+ Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

+ Must be available for some weekend and after hour coverage.

+ Basic computer skills.
