We have an exciting opening for a Database Administrator focused on Oracle for our office in Chicago, IL. This role is hybrid and will involve working in our Chicago office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays each week.

Essential Functions:

Supports and maintains Oracle primarily. Will also collaborate closely with our DBA who supports SQL, MySQL, No SQL databases.

Conducts system tuning, performance monitoring, and database maintenance.

Assists with application, developer, and user support.

Provide technical support and maintain database structure and architecture.

Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.

Monitory database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.

Implement and manage Connections with external data sources.

Plan and execute Database lifecycle management efforts.

Qualifications:

7+ years of relevant experience.

Must be well versed in Oracle.

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in computer science, information technology, or related field, or equivalent years of work experience.

Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, performance, maintenance, and integrity.

Writes complex SQL and PL/SQL functions, procedures, packages, and triggers.

Creates tables and views.

Experience tuning Oracle & SQL.

Demonstrated ability to work from complex requirement documents.

Experience managing database and code in a version-controlled environment.

Experience adhering to coding standards.

Experience creating and modifying database designs/models.

Experience creating partitioned tables.

Experience performing database administration tasks such as patching, creating users, granting privileges, etc.

Experience as an ETL developer automating the loading and transfer of large amounts of data from complex applications and data warehouses.

Experience working in a hybrid support model with onshore and offshore support teams.

Experience with Microsoft SQL and Oracle licensing.

Experience with Oracle applications.

Experience with Microsoft SQL and Oracle performance tuning and monitoring tools.

Experience:

Oracle: 5+ years preferred

MySQL, NoSQL 3+ years

Database Administration: minimum of 5 years preferred

Bitbucket or Git Product Environments a plus

Cloud RDS and Microsoft Azure SQL, Amazon RDS a plus
