DevOps Engineer

What does a successful DevOps Engineer do at Fiserv?

You will support enterprise solutions using your extensive experience with event driven platforms and automation, transforming the Enterprise Data Streaming Services. You will contribute to the engineering and automation of Fiserv’s global (Kafka) Event Streaming Services Platform, and assist in new application builds, scaled deployments, and operations for all of our customers.

What You Will Do

Assist in architecting the Event Streaming platforms by designing and automating the daily operations of the Event Streaming Environments, as well as architecting additional tools for integrating with the Event Streaming environment

Work with developers on integrating with the Event Streaming platform by assisting in the design, scale, and tooling of the application

Assist the operations and development staff with support of the environments as the next level of escalation and work as part of an Agile team by continuously striving to automate, improve overall platform availability, and remove extraneous processes from the onboarding process to the platform

Support the existing Event Streaming (Kafka) platforms

Assist in installation of new Event Streaming Services (Kafka) platforms, build best practices, and ensure adoption of secure development and automation of development and deployment

Take inputs from the platform architect team to facilitate the provisioning, maintenance, and support of the analytics platform and coordinate with the platform architect team to implement changes to configuration and components

What You Will Need To Have

7+ years of experience in systems administration

3+ years of experience designing, deploying, and supporting production cloud environments, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, and private cloud environments

3+ years of experience working with message systems, such as Kafka, and streaming engines like Kinesis, EventHub, or DataFlow

3+ years of experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies

Experience with analytics capabilities, techniques, and best practices

Experience with PCF Containers, MS Windows, and Linux platforms

Experience with GitLab or equivalent CI/CD tools

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of work, education, and/or military experience

What Would Be Great To Have

Experience operating and configuring Java in the financial services industry

Experience handling and maintaining the directory structure and the permissions of Linux file systems and HDFS paths

Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, and Moogsoft
