McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, a leading academic health center, is seeking applications for a full-time, non-tenure clinical track for Assistant/Associate Professor or Full Professor in Cardiothoracic Anesthesia within the Department of Anesthesiology.
Position Key Accountabilities:
The successful candidate will play a vital role in teaching fellows, residents, and medical students the essential skills and theories of this specialty, alongside participating in clinical activities within the operating rooms.
Qualifications:
Candidates for this position must hold a Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License. Preferred board certification in Anesthesiology or board-eligible status. Candidates should possess an M.D. or D.O. degree, with four years of post-graduate training, comprising one year of internship in an accredited program, three years of anesthesiology residency, one year in Cardiothoracic Anesthesia, and a diplomate status or eligibility for the NBME Advanced Echocardiography Certification.
A strong emphasis is placed on excellent clinical skills, with a preference for familiarity with various cases, including but not limited to LVADs, ECMO, Impella, Heart and Lung Transplants, Aortic diseases (including circulatory arrest, TAAA, EVAR, EtAA), interventional cardiology lab, EP cardiac cath lab, and Thoracic cases.
