About the Position: The volunteer experience manager oversees daily operations for a program that welcomes 15,000+ volunteers annually. This position supervises a team of three people. Working across the food bank, the manager is responsible for ensuring all daily operational needs are met; sorting food in the warehouse, supporting community events, staffing our distributions and emergency hotline, and other projects.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• At least 5 years of experience managing multiple direct reports.

• At least 5 years of experience managing a multi-faceted program at a large-scale organization. Volunteer management strongly desired.

• Ability to work in a collaborative setting with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances.

• Ability to think and act strategically and analytically.

• Established project-management skills.

• Excellent writing skills, and a strong public speaker.

• Experienced in leading a team through a SMART goal process.

• Ability to collaborate cross-departmentally to develop and execute strategies to maximize opportunities for groups and individuals with a high capacity for deeper engagement.

• Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite and databases. Salesforce experience strongly desired.

• Valid California driver’s license with an insurable driving record. (Vehicle ownership not necessary.)

• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekend shifts, and attend work functions outside of normal work hours, on weekends and evenings, as needed.

• Bilingual English-Spanish a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This role is required to work onsite every day at our 7900 Edgewater Drive facility in Oakland.Physical activities necessary in the performance of this job include ability to: Sit at a computer workstation for up to five hours at a time, move throughout the 118,000 square foot Food Bank facility in performance of duties, occasionally bend, lift and carry up to 30 lbs.; conduct facility tours in warehouse on a regular basis; communicate in clear speaking voice in person, before large groups, and over the phone; interpret instructions and questions when asked; and operate computer equipment, including typing/seeing.

This is a full-time exempt position working Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with some weekend and evening work. (7.5 hour workday, 1-hour unpaid lunch). The non-negotiable starting salary is $98,358.
