Salary Range: $150,000 to $175,000 , commensurate with education/experience
Purpose of Role:
The Deputy Athletics Director for Operations and Strategy will report directly to the Executive Director of Athletics, playing a critical role in supporting and advancing top divisional priorities and the overall mission of Long Beach State Athletics, as well as CSU Long Beach, and the CSU. The Deputy Athletic Director for Operations and Strategy will collaborate with the Executive Director of Athletics to define, refine, and execute his/her strategic vision for the department. This role will provide global leadership for all department units and strategic counsel to the Executive Director of Athletics and Senior Staff on all matters pertaining to the department's overall operations. The Deputy Athletic Director for Operations and Strategy will manage multiple ongoing projects independently and in consultation with campus constituents and various stakeholders. The Deputy Athletic Director for Operations and Strategy will also provide leadership as a Sport Administrator, working collaboratively to support the student-athlete experience, optimize resources, and provide institutional context and framework for the overall operations of each assigned sport. The Deputy Athletic Director for Operations and Strategy will be responsible for facilitating regular operational audits of all areas, providing recommendations for strategic shifts in resource management and operations.
The Deputy Athletic Director for Operations and Strategy will lead and collaborate effectively to develop and execute strategies that drive revenue, advance the institutional brand at a national level, foster meaningful engagement with external stakeholders, lay the foundation for competitive athletic success and academic achievement, support an excellent student-athlete experience that focuses on holistic development, highlight the programs legacy, and maintain operational efficiency.

Major responsibilities :
40% - D epartment management and leadership in their capacity as a primary admin responsible for department o perations.
15% - Provide strategic counsel to Executive Director of Athletics and his/her Senior Staff .
15% - Primary lead on creating strategic external engagement and partnership opportunities .
15% - Serves as Sport Supervis or.
10% - Provide Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) Leadership .
5% - Perform other duties as assigned .
Requirements:
Bachelors degree
A minimum of seven years sitting on an Athletics Executive Leadership Team
A minimum of ten years' experience in NCAA Division I Intercollegiate Athletics
A minimum of three years of experience in strategic and operational planning
Proven ability to lead and manage people and projects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Prior NCAA Division I collegiate or professional athletics preferred.
