We are looking for a driven, self-starting software engineer who will join the Software AG CONNX team in a Hybrid or remote capacity based out of Bellevue, WA responsible for our automated build and installation system for the CONNX suite of products.
This role requires experience building software packages as well as building and maintaining automated build systems, knowledge of Linux/Unix make files, C++ and C# as well as shell scripts. This role requires coordination with the development team for the CONNX products as well as coordination with the QA team. Build components run on a wide variety of platforms including Windows, Linux, zLinux, AIX, HPUX, Solaris, OpenVMS, and z/OS.
The role also requires knowledge and experience building and maintaining installer software. The installation package is built with InstallShield.
Essential Job Functions:
Design, implement and maintain the automated build environment for the CONNX product suite
Design, implement and maintain installation programs.
Contribute ideas toward the enhancement and/or modification of critical components to improve/optimize the product
Collaborate with QA on automated BVT process
Take ownership and ensure proactive closure for problem reports that fall within or appear to fall within area of responsibility, work closely with QA and technical support to quickly and successfully close problem reports
Skills:
Strong understanding of build processes on Windows, Linux and Unix
Experience generating and modifying MAKE files
Experience with building installers. Knowledge of InstallShield a plus.
Experience building automated systems.
Strong in C#, C++ and scripting languages
Java is a plus
Experience with REST APIs a plus
OpenVMS and mainframe experience a plus
Excellent time-management skills, and the ability to manage complexities and competing priorities
Ability to combine judgment, experience, analytic skills, and business knowledge to make sound decisions
Very good Interpersonal/communication skills and experience coordinating information and activities among groups
Requirements:
B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering with at least 7 years of software development experience OR
10+ years software development experience with a demonstrated knowledge of building software on multiple platforms.

The salary range for this role is $160,000 to $184,000 OTE (including variable)
