Job Description

Seeking a skilled Chemist to assist with managing and directing laboratory staff, manage the lab in the absence of the manager, and back up most tests. The primary focus will be on running tests on drinking water samples and occasionally on wastewater samples. The role involves testing for metals, volatile organic compounds, semi-volatile compounds, cations, and ions. Responsibilities also include diluting samples, pipetting, performing advanced applications/analyses using GCMS, ICPMS, IC, troubleshooting instruments, performing maintenance, training analysts, reviewing reports along with batch QC, managing special projects, providing telephone support to customers on projects, giving input on or conducting performance evaluations, and assisting in other areas of the lab as needed.

Must haves

+ 4 to 10 years of bench work experience

+ prior experience outside of school with HPLC, GCMS, or ICPMS. All 3 would be a plus

+ Bachelors Degree

Work Environment

This position is based onsite 5 days a week, working second shift from Sunday to Thursday, 3 PM to 11:30 PM, with potential overtime leading to 42-46 hours per week. Training will occur on the first shift for 4-6 weeks. This opportunity is a salary position.
