Sr. Electrical Estimator

Capitol Heights, MD, United States

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Electrical Estimator to join our C3M team! The ideal candidate must have a strong knowledge of construction principals including General Requirements, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical. We seek a self-starter that is detail oriented, displays good interpersonal skills and has a passion for the construction industry.

**Responsibilities:**

+ Maintain high standards of professionalism and ethical behavior when representing the Company

+ Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimate for projects

+ Perform portions of estimates for multi-discipline projects including scope determinations and accurate quantity survey

+ Solicit Subcontractor and/or Vendor quotes and evaluate them for scope and evaluate them for accuracy

+ Lead meetings with Subcontractors to develop complete scopes and discuss strategy

+ Perform risk and contract management responsibilities as required on bids

+ Assist in developing a strategy to achieve minority participation requirements

+ Review total estimate to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to formal quotation

+ Monitor comparison of estimated costs to actual costs

+ Research and promote continuous improvement in developing more efficient estimating methods

+ Examine construction sites and observe unusual or challenging conditions

**Qualifications:**

+ Passionate about profession, dedicated to winning work and willing to take pride and ownership of work product

+ 9+ yrs of electrical estimating experience is required

+ Rail/mass transit systems (Traction Power, Overhead Catenary, Train Control, Communications) estimating experience preferred

+ Highway/ITS/traffic signal, water/wastewater, aviation, maintenance facility, power, industrial and other highly technical project experience a plus

+ Demonstrate the ability to lead individual projects or pursuits and be a part of a team for large projects and pursuits

+ Knowledge of Electrical Bid Estimating Software. Accubid experience a plus

+ Demonstrate the ability to either lead or be a part of a team for multiple projects and pursuits

+ Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel

+ Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

+ Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task

+ Must be detail oriented, technically sound and have good communication skills

+ Familiar with both conceptual and self-perform estimating
