Director of Finance

Job Description Job Description The Finance Director will lead all financial activities, including but not limited to collate financial reporting materials for all donor segments, and oversee all financial, project/program and grants accounting.
Oversee budgets, disbursing departmental funds, manage risk, train accounting staff, and implement all respective financial policies to optimize and streamline financial processes.
Create, execute, and report the company’s financial status to executive leadership and key stakeholders responsible for making important decisions about future investments or budgets.
Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements
Collate financial reporting materials for all donor segments, and oversee all financial, project/program and grants accounting.
Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors; assess any changes necessary.
Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the ED; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes; and keep senior leadership team abreast of the organization’s financial status.
Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.
Ensure contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to and that financial data and cash flow are steady and support operational requirements.
Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; improve the finance department’s overall policy and procedure manual.
Drive all financial planning by analyzing the company’s performance and risks
Monitor the company’s financial position to make prudent financial decisions and address any concerns
Oversee and make recommendations on the company’s finance IT system
Direct all audit and internal control operations
Prepare and run all reports on financial performance on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
Provide forecasts and related reports to executive leadership and key stakeholders
Safeguard adherence to all financial laws and guidelines
Examine market trends to reduce financial risks
Develop budgets for the business, including assessing the financial needs for each department’s short and long-term goals
Provide counsel to CEO regarding spending and allocated budget
Recruit, hire, and manage critical talent for the finance and accounting departments
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or relevant field; a Master’s Degree or CPA is preferred but not require
Proven experience as director of finance or similar role
Ability to translate financial concepts and to collaborate effectively
A track record in grants management
Experience selecting and overseeing software installations and managing relationships with software vendors; knowledge of accounting and reporting software
Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws, and best practices
Deep understanding of financial analysis and forecasting
Intermediate user of MS Office and financial management software (e.g., SAP, GrantHub, Quick-books)
Benefits
Starting Salary Range: $90,000 - $95,000 Annually
