New Product Developer Engineer (CRL)

As an innovative, problem-solving, and results-driven New Product Developer (NPD) Glass Hardware Products, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and executing the development and deployment of new products at C.R. Laurence. Leveraging expertise in product development, coupled with strong technical skills and a collaborative approach with cross-functional teams, the NPD is instrumental in delivering high-quality products designs that meet or exceed market demands, customer expectations, and specifications outlined in the Project/Product Charter.

Salary Range: $90,000

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and execute product development initiatives with a focus on alignment with project/product charter objectives and market needs.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management (PM), product group specialists/sales (PGS), engineering, marketing, quality, and manufacturing, to drive innovation, ensure seamless execution throughout the product development lifecycle, and achieve product integration and adherence to quality standards. Involved in Program Development Process (PDP) for any workflow involving New Product Development

Participate, collaborate, and influence comprehensive product specifications and technical requirements documents, detailing key features, functionality, and performance criteria.

Utilize creative critical thinking skills to overcome technical challenges and optimize product development for performance, manufacturability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

Utilize rapid prototyping techniques and design processes to accelerate product development timelines and facilitate early verification and validation of concepts.

Collaborate on rigorous verification and validation protocols, analyze results, and implement improvements to validate functionality and performance, ensuring product quality, manufacturability, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date product documentation, such as engineering drawings, project/product status and timeline, design DQP, DFMEA, throughout the entire development process.

Communicate project status, milestones, and deliverables to stakeholders, fostering transparency and alignment throughout the organization. Manage product development timelines and budgets effectively to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget constraints.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product development processes and streamline workflows, contributing to a culture of innovation and excellence within the organization.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.

Proven experience in new product development, with a history of successfully bringing innovative products to life.

Strong technical proficiency in CAD and ERP software, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), rapid prototyping techniques, materials science, and manufacturing processes.

Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a demonstrated aptitude for creative thinking and out-of-the-box solutions.

Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Proficient in technical writing and documentation to accurately communicate product specifications and requirements.

Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality standards relevant to product development and manufacturing of Shower, Railings and Architectural Hardware.

Experience with verification and validation methodologies to ensure products meet performance and reliability standards.

Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying current with industry trends and best practices.

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage timelines.

Adaptability and flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and respond to changing priorities and requirements.

Ability to conduct cost analysis and implement cost reduction strategies while maintaining product quality.

Understanding of quality processes to maintain product integrity and reliability.

Understanding Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to analyze product performance and optimize designs is preferred.
