****Job Description****
Danfoss is looking for a Procurement Project Buyer, who will be responsible for managing our suppliers of Plastics, Brass Forgings, Cu Tubes and EMS.
In this role you will become part of a global organization within the Danfoss Refrigeration and A/C Controls Division. You will report to the Regional Head of Procurement and be based out of Chennai, India.
As Project Buyer you will be responsible for end-to-end management of allocated category with the support of Regional Head. Ensuring one point of contact (one face) towards suppliers and the business. You will be responsible for a range of strategic procurement activities to ensure supplier performance and development on both short and long-term basis. In doing so, you will be working across several Local & Global functions and serve as the link between Supply Chain and external suppliers
In the event of supplier quality and delivery problems, the Project Buyer handles the situation professionally and effectively. The Project Buyer also supports efforts to secure the best Total Cost of Ownership
In this position, you need to use your excellent analytical and communication skills to be able to find compromises between multiple and sometimes conflicting interests
****Job Responsibilities****
Derive the local sourcing strategy for the assigned categories
Coordinate strategic activities within the category teams in other regions (China, Mexico, Europe)
Effective Project Management aligning within Cross Functional Team
Accelerate cost-down impact from suppliers, driving and executing a sustainable savings pipeline across all levers while utilizing cross-functional teams
Actively engage with key stakeholders to gather business requirements and specifications within the region and incorporate this into sourcing strategies, supplier selections and decisions
Align technical and commercial requirements and secure total cost of ownership solutions and long-term partnership with key suppliers
Actively research trends and new technologies within sub-category incl. how other industries impact the sub-category (E.g., supply, pricing, investments etc.)
Take full and proactive responsibility for supplier performance
Lead effective supplier relationship management acting as the Danfoss key account towards key local suppliers
****Background & Skills****
* Bachelors degree in engineering/relevant degree along with procurement background
* 6 to 8 years of experience in Procurement, preferably from Plastics, Brass, Cu tubes & EMS category
* Experience in negotiation and excellent communication skills
* Excellent analytical and project management skills
* Positive and open-minded attitude with solid communication skills in English
* Dedicated, goal-oriented and thrive on working in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams
* Hands on experience in SAP Hana, SAP BI and reporting tools
