Our Assistant Automation Specialists are instrumental in supporting our Automation Specialists in building long-term customer relations, solving problems, and making recommendations to improve customer systems. They will assist in developing, building, testing, and commissioning building systems such as HVAC, lighting, power, and monitoring.
Responsibilities Assist Automation Specialists in developing, building, testing, and commissioning building control systems.
Diagnose and repair controls systems malfunctions
Conduct basic building control system installation, configuration, programming, testing, and repair.
Respond to BAS emergencies during off hours.
Prepare documentation and reports on work status and completion.
Requirements 1-4 year of experience with building automation systems, mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, computer science, OR equivalent
Working knowledge of basic electronics, logic, and systems design.
Must have basic PC experience in Windows environments and knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, web-enabled applications, and database software.
High School diploma
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR equivalent certification
Computer networking experience
Java or SQL programming language experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITY, AND CHARACTERISTICS
Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, network, and wiring drawings.
Ability to manage professional e-mail communications
Ability to manage and maintain a calendar and task management systems
Ability to present a professional, positive, and helpful attitude always.
Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic and timeliness
Must uphold company values and demand the highest level of conduct from self and others
Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work as part of a team and independently
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.
Work environment involves moderate exposure to construction hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
Moderate physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds and extensive sitting. Some walking and standing
