We are partnering with a global distributor of a widely recognized product that they sell, install, and service. This division has been growing through acquisition and organic growth which they expect to continue. This leader is going to manage a large team and have a lot of upper-level management exposure working with the President and Corporate Controller. As a Controller, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of a division of the company that makes up about 40% of its size. You will be responsible for managing the financial activities of multiple locations within a specific region, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and providing accurate financial reporting to senior management. They want to have this position grow over time as they continue their acquisition efforts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the financial operations of multiple locations within the assigned region.
Manage all accounting operations and current team of employees in accounting areas including Billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, Fixed Assets, and Building Leases.
Own and manage all activities related to the month-end and year-end close processes to provide timely and accurate Financial Statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows) and all supporting documentation and sub-ledgers.
Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance and mitigate financial risks.
Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing insights and recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency.
Prepare and present accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to leadership.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
Manage the financial aspects of new location openings, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Provide guidance and support to team members on financial matters, including budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.
EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA is always preferred.
Proven experience as a leader of multi-location operation.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting.
Proficiency in financial management software and advanced MS Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
