The IT Cloud Engineer is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day processing within the cloud computing technologies which may include an emphasis on Amazon’s six R’s – Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, Repurchase, Retire, and Retain – as key strategies for cloud migration and optimization. As an experienced IT Cloud Engineer, you will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud solutions on Azure, AWS, and other leading cloud platforms leveraging the six R’s framework to maximize efficiency, scalability, and cost effectiveness.
What you will be doing:
Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure solutions based on industry best practices. Implement and manage cloud-based services such as virtual machines, containers, databases, and networking components. Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and trends to recommend innovative solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Collaborate with stakeholders to define cloud migration strategies and execute migration plans efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Develop and maintain documentation for cloud infrastructure, configurations and processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and compliance with regulatory requirements. Automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency and scalability.
Perform regular security assessments and audits of cloud environments, implementing remediation measures as needed to address vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security standards.
Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members, fostering their professional growth and ensuring adherence to best practices.
Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents and emergencies promptly, ensuring service continuity and minimizing downtime.

Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
Knowledge of hybrid cloud architectures and technologies, including connectivity options between on-premises data centers and cloud environments.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders, facilitating collaboration and alignment on project objectives.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred.
Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Hands-on experience with cloud-native security tools and technologies, such as AWS Security Hub, Azure Security Center, or Google Cloud Security Command Center.
Knowledge of compliance frameworks and standards relevant to cloud computing, such as GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
7 years of progressive IT experience required
3 years of cloud computing experience required
Preferred experience:
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
Strong proficiency in Linux system administration, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or CentOs.
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Previous experience with disaster recovery planning and implementation for cloud-based systems, including backup and restore procedures and failover mechanisms.
Participation in industry conferences, workshops, or community events related to cloud computing, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and professional development
