About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP, Senior Underwriting Officer to join their Contract Surety team. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and underwriting a book of new and renewal contract surety business, using a structured underwriting framework to ensure high-level service to customers. This role involves proactively seeking new account opportunities, conducting detailed assessments with key distributors, and partnering with brokers to write profitable business. The VP, Senior Underwriting Officer will also be expected to lead complex technical or long-term business projects and contribute to the development of underwriting manuals and guidelines.Candidates for the VP, Senior Underwriting Officer position should have a high school diploma or equivalent and a significant amount of experience in underwriting, finance, accounting, or banking. A strong understanding of the Surety line of business and its legal and regulatory guidelines is essential. The role requires a candidate with a proven track record of working within time restraints, in a team environment, and with a strong sales execution mindset. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, in-depth knowledge of Contract Surety lines of business, and superior skills in negotiation, relationship building, and customer service.
