Impact you will make
As a Principal Data Architect , you’ll spearhead the development, harmonization, and optimization of our enterprise data architecture. This position places significant focus on data transformation , governance , and enrichment. As part of this role, you'll be instrumental in shaping the data landscape that propels our organization towards success.
What you will do
Establish the framework for data architecture, setting standards and principles encompassing modeling, metadata, security, reference data, and master data
Provide expertise and guidance on data-related issues, including data processing, data lake design, data integration, and data governance
Evangelize data strategy among stakeholders such as business users and various development teams through design, documentation, review, and cross team negotiations to support strategic business and technology goals
Collaborate on continuous improvement of data platform, including tech stack upgrade, cost optimization and compliance requirement
Choose and communicate common approaches by selecting appropriate frameworks and crafting roadmaps
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, business analysts, product analysts, to gather requirements, define data requirements , and translate business needs into technical specifications
What you will bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or Applied Science
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
A hand s -on approach with deep expertise in enterprise systems architecture , solution design, integration design, new product , and technology assessments
Proven experience in e nterprise d ata a rchitecture, data platforms, data strategy consulting, or equivalent data management experience
Expe rtise with cloud-based platforms like Azure Data Stack (Azure SQL, Data Factory, DataBricks , ADLS, DevOps, Azure EventHub’s etc.)
Fluent in one or more programming languages (ex., Python/Java/Scala /C# or equivalent )
Demonstratable experience architecting both Brownfield and Greenfield environments , on- premises and cloud
Experience building, governing, and scaling data warehouses/lakes/lake houses
Adept with agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles
What we would like to see
Experience in architecting a Data Mesh
Expertise in infrastructure as code and automating production data and ML pipelines
Prior experience in a legacy Hado op distribution
Experience collaborating with Data Science teams
