Job Description

University of Denver - DU - Biological Sciences Department

Prepare/clean standard equipment, and samples/solutions for laboratory experiments, in accordance with detailed procedures and instructions.

May do routine testing, operate basic laboratory equipment, practice safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods.

Assist graduate students, faculty and staff with research and data collection

Perform related work as required or assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Basic knowledge of general biology and chemistry.

Strong critical thinking skills.

Can work as a team and are able to follow directions.

Required Qualifications Current DU undergraduate student enrolled for the 2026-2027academic year.

This position is a work-study job, which requires eligibility through the Financial Aid Office

Preferred Qualifications Standard lab environment.

Unexpected interruptions occur often, and stress level is moderate to high.

Noise level is quiet to moderate.

Physical Activities Cleaning & moving supplies.

Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.

Compensation and Benefits $19.29-20.00/hr open to work-study funded student employees.

In compliance with Colorado’s Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA), non-benefited employees accrue one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
