My client, a progressive chemical manufacturing company in Houston is seeking a Category Lead to oversee the petrochemicals category and the sourcing team for the Americas.
Responsibilities:
Manage the regional category team by mentoring, coaching and enhancing their skills
With the category team, oversee the petrochemical spend for the Americas
Work cross-functionally with other business units
Create and implement sourcing strategies
Lead negotiations and help create and manage contracts
Conduct market research and ensure competitive pricing with supply partners
The ideal candidate:
Bachelor’s degree is preferred and MBA preferred
8+ years of experience sourcing chemicals (ideally petrochemicals)
Knowledge of petrochemicals and olefins is strongly preferred
Experience with risk management
