AUTO SERVICE ASE Certified Automotive Technician

Job Description Job Description Vara Chevrolet is looking for a Service Technician to join our service team. The right candidate will have a strong service technician background and preferably ASE certified. The day-to-day duties include performing work on specific repair orders and diagnosing what repairs need to be done.
Vara Chevrolet is located off of IH-35 South near South Park Mall.

Qualifications
Certified automotive technician
Knowledge in all or most aspects of major automotive repair
At least 2 years of experience as a certified automotive technician
Basic computer skills
Ability to or willing to learn to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively
Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
Clean driving record & valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
