Process Safety Engineer

Job Title: Process Safety Engineer

Location: Ottawa, IL Onsite

Duration: Fulltime

Job Description : >5yrs

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills Minimum of 5 years' experience in petrochemical, plastics, or energy industry subjected to PSM/RMP regulations.

Knowledgeable of Risk Based Process Safety with experience leading risk assessments, identifying mitigation/corrective actions, and implementing those actions.

Experienced with all elements of PSM/RMP regulations.

Ability to work in an industrial environment that will include wearing appropriate PPE, climbing stairs and ladders.

Ability to communicate effectively with multiple functions (maintenance, operations, EHSS, reliability) and levels (maint and operator technicians, managers, engineers).

Engineering Degree preferred but relevant work experience will be considered.

Certification in process safety, such as Process Safety (CCPS Process Safety Fundamentals Certificate, Mary K O'Conner Process Safety Certificate, ABS PHA Facilitator, etc. is preferred but not required.

Experience Required Minimum of 5 years' experience in petrochemical, plastics, or energy industry subjected to PSM/RMP regulations.

EPA's risk management program (RMP)

Roles & Responsibilities Process Safety Engineer will work under the direction of the Site Sr. EHSS Manager to ensure compliance to the PSM and RMP regulations and corporate requirements.

The Process Safety Engineer will work directly with site and regional resources to drive process safety improvements and provide leadership and technical knowledge in the area of process safety.

Generic Managerial Skills

Education

•Engineering Degree preferred but relevant work experience will be considered.
