The Role:

As the Principal Machine Learning Scientist, you will be the driving force behind the AI initiatives that propel the company’s innovative drug discovery platform. Your expertise in generative protein design will be crucial in developing advanced machine learning models that can predict and generate novel protein structures with therapeutic potential. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including computational biologists, bioinformaticians, and medicinal chemists, to translate complex scientific problems into actionable AI solutions. You'll be expected to take existing ML approaches and heavily customize them to protein drug discovery. You will also design novel approaches, from scratch, so it's important you have a strong core ML skill-set.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development and implementation of state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms for generative protein design.

Design and execute experiments to validate the efficacy of generated protein structures.

Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to integrate AI models into the drug discovery pipeline.

Mentor and guide junior scientists and researchers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.

Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and computational biology, and apply these insights to drive the company’s research agenda.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field from a top-tier university.

Extensive experience in machine learning and AI, with a proven track record in generative protein design.

Strong publication record in reputable scientific journals.

Prior experience in a start-up environment, demonstrating agility and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Highly strong coding skills (Python) and fluency in major machine learning frameworks.
