Position Description:

As one of the leaders within the Office of Enrollment Management at the Division of Continuing Education (DCE), the Associate Director of Enrollment Services leads two teams of frontline staff in supporting our prospective and current students from across the globe. By ensuring the teams offer a positive student experience, the Associate Director helps DCE create a welcoming environment for our students.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

Staff Management

Supervises work and is responsible for evaluating performance and career development for two manager-level direct reports.

Oversees the training strategy for all Enrollment Services staff.

Serve on cross-departmental committees and taskforces to suggest policy (ie Frontline Managers, Key Communicators, Safety Taskforce)

Communicates with other departments to handle complicated student and policy situations. Collaborates with other departments to ensure knowledge and feedback is shared to enhance student experience.

Application Management

Manages two high school scholarship applications, for local students interested in Harvard Extension School (HES) courses

Responsible for determining eligibility, reporting results for academic year, archiving applications, and implementing recommendations for future improvements.

Coordinates with Student Financial Services to ensure that registration process runs smoothly.

Content Development

Develops content for webinars and information sessions for newly identified/prospective students and oversees the execution of these programs.

Develops, builds, and maintains content for the HES online orientation for new students.

Data Management

Analyzes team and individual performance data; demonstrates strength in interpreting data from both standard and custom reporting.

Uses data to create strategies to make the Enrollment Services team more efficient.

Creates reports to share data with senior leaders.

Coordinates with third-party vendors.

Responsible for communicating and conveying information to the vendor’s team and addressing concerns.

Participates in educating DCE staff about thepartnership and facilitates the relationship between DCE and the vendor.

Responsible for monitoring lead flow volume in comparison with budget and coordinating the flow of data between the vendor and IT.

Leads the development and implementation of new technology for the Enrollment Services team, collaborating with AIT, marketing, and other teams as required.

Strategic Planning

Collaborates with the Director of Enrollment and Retention in developing strategic plans for the department and makes recommendations to improve its operations.

About Us:The Division of Continuing Education (DCE) comprises four academic units serving about 30,000 domestic and international students annually, which allow Harvard to meet the learning needs of intellectually curious and highly motivated students from high school through retirement. Established in 1910, the Harvard Extension School (HES) offers access to Harvard faculty for a diverse community of adult learners, enrolling about 15,000 students. HES offers over 1,000 open enrollment courses — 85 percent of which are accessible online — and provides flexibility through noncredit, undergraduate, and graduate courses, including degrees, certificates, and a premedical program. The Harvard Summer School, founded in 1871, offers around 450 credit and noncredit courses both on the Harvard Campus and online, catering to 10,000 high school, college, and adult learners.
