Purpose: Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Network Design Engineer III who will be a key support to the design, engineering, installation, configuration, and transition to sustainment operations for the C4ISR and information technology (IT) infrastructure of the Navy, Joint, and National Command Center and C4ISR/IT-intensive shore facilities.

Job Description: Responsible for assisting in the drafting and refining of assigned portions of the Installation Design Plan (IDP), as well as providing engineering input for procurement and configuration management. Participates in interim and final reviews.

Assists in the design and implementation of Active Directory services on a complex distributed network, ensuring integration with DoD C2 systems and compliance with information assurance processes. Provides support for various policies and technologies such as Windows Server, SCCM, SharePoint, virtualization, security management, directory migration, DNS, DHCP, WINS, DFS, ADFS, PKI, GPOs, identity management, process automation, multiple domains and forests, and STIGs.

Responsible for system management support on large-scale distributed networks with multiple classification enclaves. Implements and manages technologies like network devices, server operating systems, virtualization infrastructure, server application monitoring, VoIP telephony, network and server management suites, firewall systems, database management, log management, SIEM, and STIGs. Assists in the engineering of Windows systems within the end user computing architecture and ensures compliance with information assurance processes.

Provides support for Windows client/server architecture, deployment, configuration, management, high availability, diagnostics, performance tuning, monitoring and problem resolution, optimization and resource management, and STIGs. Assists in the engineering and implementation of the data center client-server architecture and integration with the network infrastructure.

Provides support for Microsoft Windows and RedHat Linux architectures, blade server architectures, software provisioning, virtual environments, and continuity of operations infrastructure. Collaborates with other teams to integrate SharePoint with the network infrastructure and provides support for IIS configuration, Active Directory integration, load balancing, DNS, SMTP, and SQL Database related to SharePoint. Collaborates with the Storage Engineer to integrate storage infrastructure with data centers and other systems.

Provides support for integrating information systems with complex data centers and C2 systems. Analyzes system requirements to refine technical solutions. Collaborates with the Backup Engineer to integrate backup services with complex environments, including C2 systems and multiple classification enclaves. Assists in analyzing system requirements and designs for technical solutions.

Collaborates with the SAN Engineer to integrate SAN with distributed networks and C2 systems. Assists in analyzing system requirements and designs for technical solutions. Works closely with the Oracle Database Engineer and Administrator to integrate Oracle databases with the IT infrastructure. Provides support for virtualized/cloud-based environments and configuration and monitoring of infrastructure supporting Oracle databases. Works closely with the SQL Engineer and Database Administrator to integrate Microsoft SQL applications with the IT infrastructure. Provides support for configuration and monitoring of infrastructure supporting SQL applications.

Collaborates with the VDI Engineer to integrate VDI infrastructure with the IT infrastructure. Provides support for networking configuration, storage environments, disaster recovery planning, and securing virtual machines. Collaborates with the CDI Administrator to administer end user computing solutions and CDI services. Assists in installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of software and hardware.

Collaborates with the Linux Engineer and Administrator to integrate Linux systems with the IT infrastructure. Provides support for DNS, DHCP, AD integration, virtualized and cloud technologies, patching, package management, user/group management, backups, system reports/logs, and STIGs. Collaborates with the Cloud Engineer to integrate cloud services with the IT infrastructure.

Provides support for virtual desktops, storage environments, remote desktop solutions, VMware technologies, datacenter automation, help desk ticketing systems integration, scripting languages, securing virtual machines, and disaster recovery planning.

Collaborates with the Technical Support Specialist to install, configure, test, and checkout equipment and systems. Analyzes system requirements and designs for technical solutions. Works closely with the Project Manager and project engineers during system transition into a new facility. Provides technical support in troubleshooting and resolving system-related issues.

Collaborates with the Technical Writer to create as-built documentation packages accurately reflecting system configurations. Provides technical expertise and guidance for documentation creation.

Desired Qualifications: Desired certifications include one or more of the following: Server+, MCTS, MCSA, Linux+, RHCSA, RHCE, Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP), Server+, Storage Foundation Exam, Oracle Certified Expert, Oracle DB12C, RAC and Grid, VMware Certified Specialist, VMware Cloud Foundation Deployment, and Multicloud Infrastructure (NCP-MCI).

Security Requirements: Must have TS/SCI
