**Overview of the Role:**

**Title: Research Scientist**

**This is an on-site role in one of the following ICON Labs locations:** Farmingdale, NY; Lenexa, KS; Cambridge, MA; or Portland, OR

The Research Scientist is responsible for designing, developing and validating clinical qPCR, RT-qPCR and ddPCR based molecular diagnostic assays and transfer of validated assays to the clinical laboratory.

In this role, the Research Scientist will author and/or review assay development plans, project reports, procedures, and other assay-related documentation and independently execute experiments according to project plans.

The role actively supports corporate growth and revenue initiatives by directly collaborating with Scientific Affairs and Business Development personnel and participates in client interactions as needed. The role requires competency in basic computer programs and excellent oral and written communication skills.

**To succeed in this role, you will need:**

+ Expertise in qPCR-based assay development and validation.

+ Experience working in a regulated lab a plus

+ 3-5 years of experience at the bench and 1-2 years of experience leading projects.

+ Advanced degree is preferred.
