BrightBee is an education technology startup revolutionizing how K-12 schools engage with hourly, classified, and paraprofessional staff. We believe in unlocking the potential of every school team member, no matter where they started their career journey. Our mission is to create a future where schools thrive, and workers have the support they need to prosper and grow. As a rapidly growing early-stage company, we are seeking entrepreneurial leaders who embrace creativity, scrappiness, and the excitement of building something from the ground up.

About this Position

This is a full stack marketing role, covering everything from strategy and brand positioning to execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns. There will be a particular emphasis on customer marketing within the K-12 education sector, as we work to effectively engage schools and nonprofits who are not used to having the kind of support we offer.

Additionally, you will lead growth marketing initiatives focused on top of funnel activities for ‘NewBees’ (worker recruits) to make sure our ‘Hives’ are growing at a pace that keeps up with demand from our school and nonprofit partners.

This is a half-time (40-60% FTE) position, with the intention of growing into a full time position by early 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Marketing. Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies tailored to the unique needs and preferences of K-12 schools. Utilize research and customer insights to identify key pain points and opportunities for engagement.

Content Creation and Distribution: Lead the creation and distribution of compelling content across various platforms, including social media, email campaigns, blogs, and webinars. Representing our brand with expertise in the K-12 space is key.

Brand Management: Cultivate and maintain a strong brand presence in the education technology space. Manage brand positioning, visual identity, and guidelines to ensure consistency across all marketing channels.

Lead Generation: Develop campaigns to acquire new customers within a limited portfolio of geographic markers we serve. Ours is a hyper-local business, so you will need to be able to demonstrate an understanding of the unique aspects of each community.

Growth Marketing and Recruiting: Develop and implement growth marketing strategies to attract applicants to join our worker community. Utilize innovative marketing tactics, employer branding initiatives, and talent acquisition campaigns to attract candidates who have the right experience and are passionate about our mission.

Performance Analytics and Optimization: Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and initiatives. Use data-driven insights to optimize marketing strategies, maximize ROI, and achieve key performance indicators.

Required Qualifications:

At least 5 years of experience in marketing roles showing a range of duties across the marketing stack, including experience specifically within K-12 education.

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) with a preference for Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field

Strong understanding of the K-12 education landscape, including familiarity with school administration processes and decision-making dynamics.

Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, such as Google Analytics, HubSpot, and social media management tools.

Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messaging and engage diverse audiences.

Strategic thinker with a creative mindset and a passion for driving innovation in education technology.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.

Passion for BrightBee’s mission of supporting thriving schools and prospering workers.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters in Business Administration or equivalent with a concentration in marketing

Experience specifically within marketplace-based platforms, whether in K-12 or another setting

Established track record (with metrics!) of success meeting similar marketing objectives in the K-12 sector

Compensation

Annual cash compensation ranging from $45,000-55,000 (for half-time engagement)

Significant equity in the form of stock options.

Possibility of health, vision, dental and other insurance benefits if desired.

Unlimited vacation policy.

Flexible work hours and partial remote work options.

Opportunity to make a significant impact in the education sector and contribute to shaping the future of learning.
