Warehouse Front Line Manager - Northampton

We are looking to recruit 4 Front Line Managers to join our Warehouse team in Northampton. The role is flexible and you will be required to work on different shifts in order to fulfil the responsibilities of the role / cover for other managers as well as ensuring a full understanding of the different operations across all shifts, 20 Days per annum will be a compulsory requirement for time spent away from the normal allocated shift. This will be managed and tracked by the individual selected for the role. The Store Delivery Network operates primarily out of Brackmills Industrial Estate in Northampton and represents a key part of the Wickes business supporting store replenishment to all stores in the estate.We are looking to strengthen the existing management team with enthusiastic professional individuals capable of training to a high standard. As part of your development we will train the individuals in all aspects of the warehouse roles that enable us to service our stores to a high level of consistency.

Key Accountabilities:

* Set daily targets for achievement across designated sections. Plan and control weekly labour requirements for assigned section / sections ensuring sufficient capability to meet fluctuating workload. Identify and react to potential problem areas within the section / sections which may require further reporting including both financial and trend analysis.

* Liaise with Senior Managers to ensure operational targets are identified, that regular measurement is taken against these targets and that remedial action is taken as appropriate.

* Develop a highly motivated team of potential leaders by encouraging open communication and holding regular briefing sessions and chairing minuted operational meetings as required.

* Ensure all Health and Safety Legal requirements are met and adhered to.

* Liaise with other shifts / Stores and Head Office departments when required to ensure continued efficiency and better service levels as appropriate.

* Job holders will be expected to operate in the short to medium term focusing on operational strategy whilst maintaining an active involvement in ensuring daily production targets are met.

* The job holder will be expected to manage a large number of people.

* Working to challenging KPIs, understand and produce own KPIs that demonstrate control of the operation, effective target setting and measurement

* Ability to understand volume fluctuation and to alter shift resource and headcount in order to accommodate changing volume.

* Creation, ownership and delivery of continual improvement of operational processes and practices within the operation.
