Job description
The Technical Project Manager is responsible for leading and delivering complex enterprise technology projects for large Utility companies. With expertise in project management methodologies and a deep understanding of technical disciplines, the incumbent will ensure the successful implementation and integration of these solutions in alignment with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management:
• Manage the delivery roadmap, plan, and work closely with the project team, partners, customers, and internal stakeholders to drive projects to conclusion.
• Define and implement project management processes tailored to the specific needs of each project
• Use Project Management Tools such as Jira to manage agile scrum projects, resource capacity, and track dependencies while ensuring completion of milestones within specific budgets and schedules.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks proactively
• Gather, document, and communicate project requirements
• Track project progress, report status, and communicate critical updates to stakeholders
• Collaborate with development, testing, and operations teams to ensure seamless project delivery
• Facilitate project governance activities, including planning, tracking, and reporting
Technical Leadership:
• Understand and apply technical architecture principles and best practices
• Perform technology market scans and conduct vendor evaluations
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends
• Recommend strategic technology solutions to business stakeholders
• Participate in the design and implementation of technical solutions
Key Deliverables:
• Successful delivery of technical projects, meeting or exceeding predefined specifications
• Effective utilization of project management tools and methodologies
• Accurate and timely project reporting and communication
• Identification and implementation of technical solutions that align with business goals
• Continuous improvement of project governance practices
Education and Qualifications
• Experience managing IT projects for a utility company is mandatory.
• Bachelor'Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
• Advanced degrees or certifications in project management, technical disciplines, or business administration preferred Experience
• 5+ years of experience managing technical projects in IT or related industries
• Expertise in project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum) and certifications (PMP, CSM, CSPO preferred)
• In-depth knowledge of technical disciplines, including SDLC, software development, cloud computing, database engineering, and/or IT infrastructure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
• Demonstrated ability to deliver successful mission-critical projects
Duration: 12 months
Location: Oakland, CA (must be able to come on-site as needed so we are looking for candidates within a 2 hour radius of Oakland)
