Position Summary
Conduct product support work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
Job Functions/Duties (may be assigned other duties by management)
•Work as resource in the Engineering department providing high quality engineering support for company products and services
•Work on multiple support and product change request projects, taking responsibility for on time and on budget delivery of proven design solutions
•Select and/or review components and materials alternatives/substitutes
•Review equipment assembly, test, and other engineering procedures
•Review technical documentation, bill of materials, procedures and their translations
•Participate in dismantle, inspection, failure analysis, and determine solutions to mitigate similar failures
•Compile engineering reports and present data where necessary to the management team
•Resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning
•Support Operations with technical support of equipment product line
•Support manufacturing of equipment including troubleshooting, product improvement, and product inspection
•Manage and control the engineering hours allocated to the support requests
•Personally observe safety and security procedures and proper use of equipment and material.Actively promote safety process and report any safety issues to proper channels for action.
Qualifications/Education Requirements
•Proficient computer skills with knowledge of MS Office and/or company specific software
•Knowledge of PTC WindChill
•Good oral and written communication and analytical skills
•Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology required or equivalent years of directly related experience
•1+ years of engineering experience required or relevant education
•CPR / AED and electrical safety training
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Normal office environment and occasional exposure to plant environment during the course of normal job duties
Occasionally required to move about the facility
Occasional travel and On call required
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including eye and hearing protection, hard hat and safety shoes while in shop environment or on job site
