Occasional adult CHD patients 24 pedi CVICU with overflow to 12 bed unit next door
May float to care for cardiac patients in NICU, PICU or Acute Care
Minimum Qualifications 18 month Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU experience required
Nurse : Patient Ratio by shift: 1:1, 1:2 for ICU status, 1:3 for stepdown/non ICU
Minimum # Years in Specialty: 2 Certifications Required: BLS, PALS Certifications Preferred: ACLS
QUALIFICATIONS BLS and ACLS
National Institutes of Health (NIH)
Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
The ability to stand for extended periods.
Strong technical skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology
Passionate about patient care
Requires a minimum of two years of current RN Pediatric ICU experience.
Graduate from a fully accredited RN program
Active unencumbered RN Texas state license
One year of Epic experience
PALS certification
Requirements COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.
SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
