The System Administrator is responsible for performing complex systems administration and support work. The incumbent will be responsible for Mobile Device Management and hardware inventory; assisting with creating, managing, and maintaining desktop images, software application installs and troubleshooting computer images and process automation through scripting; and providing level 3 support to agency staff. This position will work proactively with other IT staff and agency employees.

This is a Hybrid position and requires 2-3 days of onsite work a week conducted at our TRS office in Austin TX

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Systems Application Support

•Mobile Device Management utilizing Microsoft Intune.

•Contributes to Active Directory infrastructure and Group Policy Objects for endpoints.

•Contributes to creating desktop imaging and deployment tools.

•Contributes to maintaining and enhances Windows Desktop builds (imaging) via SCCM, application packaging, and endpoint rollout processes.

•Contributes to creating new software packages and task sequences for application and patch distribution via SCCM.

•Contributes to creating scripts using PowerShell.

•Analyzes and resolves escalated high-level desktop system and application problems.

•Responsible for keeping up with trends in technology relating to Microsoft OS and applications.

Mobile Device and Endpoint Management

•Maintains and tracks all hardware inventory to include iPhones, iPads, laptops, desktops, monitors, headsets, etc.

•Documents all work performed in a highly detailed and accurate manner.

•Troubleshoots iPhone, iPad and PC hardware and software problems with users, determines source and advises on appropriate actions.

•Escalates trouble call assignments as required, notifying management of critical outstanding issues.

Project Management

•Participates in special Information Technology projects as assigned.

•Participates in project related work and production.

•Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of projects.

•Plans and coordinates hardware and/or software implementation efforts.

•Maintains project tracking and provides status reports to senior leadership.

•Performs related work as assigned.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING

Required Education

•Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in information technology, computer science or a closely related field.

•High school diploma or equivalent and additional full-time experience in information systems, telecommunications, computer operations or related experience may be substituted on an equivalent year-for-year basis.

Required Experience

•Four (4) years of full-time directly related, progressively responsible experience in computer Client Services, PC desktop support, or related experience.

•Experience with Microsoft Intune.

•Experience with System Center Configuration Manager.

•Experience may be concurrent.

•A master's degree or doctoral degree in a closely related field may be substituted on an equivalent year-for-year basis.

Required Registration, Certification, or Licensure

•None.

Preferred Qualifications

•Experience assembling, installing and repairing PC hardware and software.

•Working knowledge of helpdesk management software and general helpdesk best practices and processes.

•Training and/or certification in ITIL v3.

•Experience with McAfee Endpoint Encryption.

•Experience with BitLocker Encryption.

•Experience with Intune Administration.

•Experience with VMware View.

•Experience with Microsoft Active Directory.

•Experience with PowerShell scripting.

•Experience with Microsoft Group Policy.

•One (1) year of Project Management experience which includes the preparation of project related documentation, planning & managing project activities, and the implementation of projects or maintenance activities.

•Certification in Microsoft Office and/or Operating Systems.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of:

•The practices, principles, and techniques of computer operations.

•Microsoft Windows operating systems, Office suites, and general PC hardware and software used in a business environment.

Skills in:

•Using a computer in a Microsoft Windows environment with word processing, spreadsheet and other business software.

•Troubleshooting complex PC hardware and software problems.

•Communicating complex technical information via telephone to people of all levels of technical skill and knowledge.

•Planning, organizing and coordinating work assignments to effectively meet frequent and/or multiple deadlines, handling multiple tasks simultaneously, and in managing conflicting priorities and demands.

•PowerShell scripting with the ability to create and modify as needed.

•Creating SCCM packages and task sequences.

Ability to:

•Establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with co-workers, agency staff and external contacts, and work effectively in a professional team environment.

•Work extended and irregular hours due to internal and external obligations, and travel occasionally for training.
