**?The Commodity, Transportation Manager will be responsible for commodity leadership, strategy, and implementation of key procurement processes within respective Direct Material Commodities and Global Transportation. The role will manage and lead commodity strategy development and implementation and respective supply base to ensure product quality, delivery, and cost for all commodities assigned. This leader will also drive supply base performance to ensure key procurement objectives are met.**
**As a Commodity Leader, you will develop and execute both tactical and strategic direct material and transportation commodity plans for the Global Operations located out of Charlotte, NC facility as base. This role will own and lead cost reduction initiatives, on-time delivery, quality, supplier performance and improve on vendor relationships. This position allows for vast and varied exposure across multiple disciplines and business units.**
**This problem solver, influencer and corporate leader will have a rich work history in Supply Chain, Commodities and Logistics Management and will be as effective building consensus at the plant level as at the corporate level.**
**?Key Responsibilities:**
-Lead, manage and direct strategic sourcing activities of commodity team to include but not limited to: Castings, Machined Product, Forgings, Hardware, Foam and Vinyl
* Develop and deploy commodity sourcing strategies across all commodities
* Develop and manage supplier quality improvement and cost reduction programs
-Develop and Implement Global Transportation Strategy across Safe Fleet
* Implement Freight Consolidation Strategy from Overseas supplier locations
* Implement Domestic Transportation Strategy for North American Safe Fleet Plants and Suppliers
-Drive specified plant activities and Sourcing Champion for selected SF plants
-Act as primary interface for all major communication to suppliers
-Reduce/optimize complexity of supply chain to support domestic as well as global requirements on common components
-Initiate and manage continuous cost improvement projects (PPV, VAVE) to meet and exceed annual budgets
* Creation of pipeline with future savings opportunities and resources required to achieve savings targets year over year
* Implementation and management of current projects to achieve forecasted/budgeted expectations
-Support NPI Projects
-Create and negotiate multi-year contracts with suppliers
-Approve and implement ECOs
-Improve supplier lead times and inventory reduction
**Relationships:**
-Support Material Planners and Operations on critical shortages
-Provide information to management on specific objectives
-Develops, builds and maintains long term partnerships and relationships with suppliers
-Alignment and support of DHR Procurement and Commodity Team objectives

**Required Education, Experience and Skills**
-Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or a similar field and 8+ years of supply chain experience, specifically in a procurement and transportation roles with targeted work managing contract manufacturers
-Experience working with Global and Domestic Material Suppliers to include (but not be limited to): Castings, Machined Product, Forgings, Hardware, Foam and Vinyl
-Experience with Global and Domestic Transportation systems
-Conducting strategic sourcing and leading negotiations
-Leadership across multiple functions as well as multiple facilities
-Experience using Lean Methodology processes in a manufacturing environment is a plus
-Database management, reporting, analytical and problem solving skills
-Coaching, mentoring and/or leadership experience a plus
-Good organization, project management and follow-through skills
-Ability to prioritize, multitask and act in a proactive manner
-ERP and Microsoft Excel experience
-Travel to vendor and Safe Fleet locations as required. Could exceed 50%
