We are seeking experienced data engineers (at all levels, and in multiple locations) to join our team and contribute to the operationalization of a prototype system at the forefront of cutting-edge technology. If youre passionate about solving complex challenges and thrive in a collaborative environment, this opportunity is for you. As a skilled data engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development and maintenance of data pipelines supporting a mission critical NextGen space resiliency / flight safety program. Youll work closely with cross-functional teams, including analysts, software developers, cloud computing engineers, and systems engineers, to ensure efficient data processing, secure storage, and insightful analysis.
This is an incredible opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team that is building a COMPLETE SYSTEM (architecture, platform, tool/capability, microservices full with integration, verification, and validation). This position requires hands-on experience and expertise with Kafka, AWS, and MongoDB
Responsibilities:
-Upgrade and/or maintainKafkaclusters in anAWS/Kubernetescloud environment
-Design, Develop, and Deploy Kafka clusters in an AWS/Kubernetes cloud environment
-Manage schema evolution and security using Kafka Schema Registry and Kafka Security Manager (KSM)
-Oversee the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms
Requirements:
-Kafka experience: Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams, and other Kafka ecosystem tools
-Kafka knowledge of/with:Kafka Schema Security Manager, Kafka Schema Registry, and Kafka architecture and internals
-Experience withApache NiFI
-Experience with AWS
-Experience with MongoDB
-Experience with agile development methodologies
-TS/SCI clearance with a CI Polygraph
-Ability to work on site in Chantilly, VA, Herndon, VA, or in Englewood, CO
-Must be able to meet one of the education/experience combinations listed at the end
Preferred Consideration for Candidates who have:
-Background in any of the following: Orbital Dynamics, Astrodynamics, Aerospace Engineering, Flight Safety, Space Domain Awareness, Satellite Conjunction Analysis, SIGINT, IMINT, or GEOINT
-Experience with Infrastructure-as-code tools (Ansible, Terraform)
-Experience with Big Data technologies (Spark, Cassandra, Hadoop)
-Experience with SQL, Java, Python, or Scala
Education/Experience Requirements:
-SME Level: Expert consultant to top management typically with an advanced degree and 13+ years experience or bachelors with 15+ years of experience or equivalent. Requires highest knowledge and mastery of highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts. Viewed as a subject matter expert and within the field by peers within and outside the organization.
-Senior Level: 10 years of experience in either (a) software engineering (b) software development or (c) systems engineering for information technology systems and a Bachelors degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent field.
-Mid-Level: 5 years of experience in either (a) software engineering (b) software development or (c) systems engineering for information technology systems and a Bachelors degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent field.
-Junior Level: Bachelors degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent field. No experience required.
