For more information, visit amwater.com and join American Water on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. _ *Work Schedule*_ * Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. * Possible OT. _ *Key Accountabilities*_ * Works professionally with customers while performing various customer service work including B-Box and sewer inspections, meter reading routes, meter reads, tests and/or installation of water meters, water quality sampling and testing, pressure testing and complaint resolution, identifies account discrepancies and other related customer service assignments. * Follows department directives regarding customer satisfaction performance goals including safety initiatives. * Maintains equipment in proper and safe operating condition, performs minor repairs on equipment Maintains company vehicle including daily vehicle inspections. * Works well with other department's providing assistance and guidance ensuring assigned projects are completed on time and correct documentation and customer follow up is completed. * Provides guidance and recommendations on resolutions to customer issues. * Effectively operates various equipment including line and meter locators, pressure gauges, Sawzall, augers, bbox keys, and any other equipment necessary to complete assigned work. * Has good working knowledge of reading, installing, and testing water meters, meter reading equipment, including data logger, confined space entry. * Can effectively and efficiently operate, adjust, and repair b-box and valve boxes and meter sets. * Has working knowledge of and can effectively implement and guide others on company procedures, policies and practices of Customer Service Department. * Participates in all required safety (including near miss reporting and PPE recommendations) as well as customer service training as guided by management. * Water sample collection. * Other Duties as assigned by management. _ *Knowledge/Skills*_ * Has heightened knowledge of industry safety and OSHA requirements, use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Basic math, reading, correspondence & e-mail writing, good statistical and problem- solving skills. * Has good working knowledge of reading, installing and minor repair of water meter and use or meter reading equipment, including meter reading and data logger equipment. * Good command of various software including Tough book, i-pad and Work-1 View, or other order processing software, Microsoft Products (Outlook, Excel, Word), MapCall, GIS mapping and other necessary and related software to perform assigned tasks. * Solid practical knowledge of field service work using industry utility tools and equipment. _ *Experience/Education*_ * Qualified candidates must possess a high school diploma or the equivalent, have ability to perform mathematical calculations with accuracy as related to the position. * Ability to communicate effectively with external customers, written and verbal.
