PART-TIME PAYROLL-ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST POSITION
The Columbia Association Accounting/Payroll Specialist is responsible for:
1) Calculating retro payments
2) Calculating special payments such as grants, seasonal incentive payments, severance payments, historical vacation payouts and other special payments
3) Completing census and information reporting
4) Assisting with other Payroll/Accounting tasks as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Calculate and enter retro payments into CA's payroll system for pay rate changes that did not occur in a timely manner or occur in the middle of a pay period. Review rate change and hours associated with complete calculations.
Review calculations for special payments such as grants, seasonal aquatics incentives, severance payments and other special payments. Enter those payments into CA's payroll system.
Review historical vacation payouts to make sure TMs' balances and pay rates are accurate and paid out correctly.
Prepare census and surveys for Maryland and other agencies as needed for Payroll Manager's review.
Assist Payroll Manager with bi-weekly payroll processing as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience, Education and Licensure (note certifications or degrees required)
3-5 years related payroll experience in a medium-size company or non-profit preferred.
Required Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry
Excellent math skills; works well with numbers!
Attention to detail and good organizational skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Hands-on experience with automated HRIS and/or payroll systems
Customer service skills
