The Transportation Project Manager will be responsible for selling and building the transportation portfolio of work throughout Northern California. The successful candidate would be a leader for our team of engineers and designers in all aspects of design and plan preparation for roadway, highway, and freeway improvement projects for the state DOT, county DOT’s and municipal public agency clients across California in one of our northern California offices.
The Transportation Project Manager will:
Lead proposal strategies, content, etc. and participate in the interview process to win work, as well as s(he), will be a visible and an active member of the California Transportation industry through professional organization involvement.
Develop marketing strategies to network and pre-position Michael Baker for transportation projects.
Deliver projects per agreed to work plan, budget, client expectations, and quality objectives.
Lead, assign, and review work of the project delivery team and provide technical guidance and oversight for the design for transportation projects; QA/QC work and progress and identify changes of scope and additional services.
Staff mentorship and development, as well as the development and overseeing of budgets and schedules.
Be a thought-leader in strategic planning while building and maintaining relationships with key client decision-makers, keeping abreast of upcoming project advertisements and changes in the clients’ organization.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Professional Engineer (PE) license
10+ years of roadway design experience with increasing levels of responsibility
DOT experience is a must
Design-build experience is a plus
Strong track record of overseeing successful project delivery
Have the drive to be a leader in the company and in the professional community
Possess strong engineering judgment with a strive for quality and financial excellence
COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is up to $210,000. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
