Sr Transportation Specialist

Performance Health is seeking a Sr. Transportation Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be manage, support, and improve the Performance Health transportation operation across North America with particular focus on the Indianapolis DC by supporting the local DC leadership teams; to identify and lead cost saving initiatives across the North American transportation network, including opportunities to consolidate shipments, utilize different modes, and maximize vehicle utilization. Essential Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesManages the work plan and safety of transportation partners, including adherence to standard operating procedures and site-specific instructionsCoordinating with other departments within the organization, including DC inbound and outbound teams, finance, customer service, procurement, and our nominated partners to ensure costs are minimized and service levels maintainedTrack shipments and ensure that data is updated in the relevant PH systems Identify opportunities to partner with different departments to reduce costs, improve safety and improve customer service Managing shipment performance to ensure agreed service levels are met while considering shipping requirementsEnsure the most cost-effective method of transportation is used to deliver products to our customers.Assists the Inbound teams with ASN’s, inbound shipment visibility and pack list related issues.Maximize utilization of trailers and containers on LTL/FTL and LCL/FCL shipments, including Inter-company movements, identifying opportunities to improve.Work with LTL/FTL partners on identifying root causes of overcharges, re-weighs and reclasses to generate solutions to prevent recurrence.Identify, lead and partner on transportation related projects and cost-down initiatives.Manage the disposition process and work with business partners on claims processing and recovery.Handle transportation cases, escalations, and partnering with CX teams to satisfy customers requests.Collaborate with Performance Health customer service teams to prepare documentation for international ordersLiaise with and support the Global Customs Compliance Manager on queries relating to Commodity / HS codes and NMFC classes.Review and approve associated shipping documentation, including those for hazardous shipmentsPerforms other duties as assigned Job Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related fieldAt least 5 years working within an international distribution business with high volumes of import and export transactionsHave utilized a TMS in a predominantly 3rd party freight partner operationPartnering with the Logistics Analyst, has ability to analyze data and review trends.Management of freight partner relationships and ensuring the solutions are cost effective Ability / experience of challenging existing practice and deploying resilient solutionsExperience of working to high quality, safety, and service standards.
