Warehouse Supervisor
This position reports to the Supply Chain Director.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee warehouse inventory and staff.
Hires and manages warehouse associates.
Assigns workloads and daily tasks to warehouse associates.
Follows the standard operation procedures (SOP).
Develops and improves warehouse processes and procedures.
Orders new supplies and equipment (with proper approvals).
Escalates issues to managers and recommends potential solutions.
Ensures the team adheres to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Ensure facility Key Performance Indicator (KPI’s) goals are met and/or exceeded.
Drives and efficient and motivated workforce by providing effective coaching, feedback and encouragement.
Measures and reports KPI’s and operational metrics to the Warehouse Manager when needed.
Maintains records, reporting relevant information and preparing any necessary documentation.
Performs daily inspections of warehouse grounds.
Effectively and efficiently communicates with other departments and customers.
Received and records new inventory as it is delivered; inspects and stores it according to policy.
Conducts physical inventory, compares results to computerized inventory, and reconciles any difference.
Replenishes stock and inventory as needed.
Ensures that all stock is stored in correct locations in the warehouse.
Transfers inventory to trucks for delivery in a timely manner and according to schedule.
Schedules materials being transferred to and from warehouse; coordinates transfer of inventory between departments.
Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to develop strategic plans and procedures to increase the efficiency of warehouse practices.
Monitors expenditures; implements corrective actions if needed.
Enforces operating instructions and safety policies.
Resolves routine equipment issues.
Other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Critical thinking ability and proactive approach to problem solving.
Associate Degree in Business or similar discipline preferred.
At least 2 years of experience in distribution or manufacturing required.
Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations and management.
Time management skills and the ability to effectively delegate.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Problem solving aptitude by accurately defining, analyzing, breaking down and solving complex problems.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Proficient with data entry and inventory software and systems.
Team building qualities.
