Student Radiology Technologist (PRN)

PURPOSE STATEMENT
Operate radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnostic X-ray films as directed by physicians under the supervision of Registered Radiologic Technologist and perform routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Take X-ray images of specified body areas/parts as ordered, following established procedures.
Apply lead shield to protect unaffected parts of the body from exposure to radiation. Direct personnel to a safe area and/or shield them.
Perform portable exams.
Perform C-arm exams in the OR while maintaining a sterile field.
Enter exams in Radiology Information System and PACS.
Provide radiologist with proper history for complete diagnosis.
Mark all images correctly using provided lead markers.
Maintain established department policies, procedures, objectives, and quality.
Assist in care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies. Keep work areas clean. Maintain supply levels.
Must adhere to hospital dress code.
Attend in-service meetings and other meetings as required.
Able to send images to cloud system.
Perform other duties as directed by Diagnostic Imaging Director.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Will take call on a rotation basis.
Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent.
Currently attending an accredited program in Radiology Technology.
Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work within the established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the hospital/clinic.
Current BLS is required.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to sit and stand, intermittent 8 to 10 hours a day.
Must be able to use standard office equipment, including the telephone and computer keyboard.
Continuously works under pressure of near 100% accuracy while meeting inflexible deadlines.
Continuously utilizes manual/bi-manual dexterity, near vision, speech. and hearing.
Frequently stands, walks, sits and utilizes eye/hand coordination and color definition.
Occasionally reaches above shoulder, regularly required to life and/or carry up to 40 lbs.
Occasionally walks on uneven surfaces.
