Job Description

Lithos Energy designs and manufactures advanced lithium ion battery systems for a wide range of high-performance applications spanning automotive, defense, aerospace, specialty vehicles and energy storage. The factory and engineering are all under one roof. We are a growing team of motivated and capable engineers who are passionate about enabling the future of transportation and energy.

We are looking for an experienced mechanical engineer who wants to create world-class battery systems and make an impact with them. You must be genuinely passionate about electric vehicles and energy systems. You must want to work in a rapidly evolving small company where you will wear many hats. You must be excited about creating reliable, high quality and safe products and delivering them to real customers. This role will require you to be onsite an average of 4-days per week.

You will innovate, create and have a major impact on the company and its products, working alongside experienced leaders and helping to mentor others. You will be responsible for leading the design of new battery packs and modules, and developing technologies to push the state of the art. You will own major subsystems from kick-off to prototype, validation, release, volume production and support.

Responsibilities

Develop unique battery designs through the entire lifecycle from concept to detail design, manufacturing and validation testing.

Mechanical design of current and next generation high-voltage DC battery packs, modules, and enclosures. Create models and drawings with GD&T of complex parts and assemblies using SolidWorks. Own CAD from early concept through product launch

Participate in formal and informal design/peer review and change control activities.

Generate engineering design documentation and specifications.

Support design issue resolution and pre-production build events.

Conduct lab trials and experiments to rapidly inform design direction

Help develop manufacturing equipment and processes required for new product introduction or continuous improvement.

Lead or assist in the execution of product validation and testing

Detail assembly designs to meet applicable safety and regulatory standards. Ensure the design meets all customer and manufacturability requirements.

Support component selection, and electronics supplier technical interactions.

Actively seek opportunities to increase technical skills and capabilities.

Qualifications

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field, 3-7 years related experience.

3D modeling experience using SolidWorks.

Demonstrated creative problem solving in industry or academic setting.

Demonstrated ownership of design in industry or academic setting.

Demonstrated hands‑on abilities (e.g., machine shop skills, technical hobbies/projects, etc.).

Growth mindset. Enthusiasm for team and company goals.

Fundamental understanding of GD&T principals and application.

General understanding of mechanical part fabrication methods (e.g., machining, stamping, extrusion, welding, injection molding, casting, sheet metal, etc.).

Experience working with electronics - basic electrical principles and troubleshooting, safety practices.

Desire to be involved and learn with a cross‑functional, fast‑paced team.
