Description The Construction Manager will play a lead role in the pre-construction planning, construction management, and commissioning activities for the surface facilities and transmission interconnections across Fervo’s portfolio of geothermal energy developments. The Construction Manager will participate in multidiscipline teams to support project development from initial development through project execution. The Construction Manager will report to the Director of Surface Facilities.
Responsibilities Lead pre-construction planning, construction management, and commissioning activities for Fervo’s greenfield asset in SW Utah
Lead constructability assessments, construction readiness reviews, and risk reviews
Identify and mitigate project specific construction risks
Effectively communicate with external partners relevant to the construction of the project including partners, local communities, suppliers, contractors, politicians, authorities, and regulators
Provide technical support, review, and assurance of contractor plans, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance
Act as the day-to-day collaborator with construction related contractors and work with procurement to ensure effective contract management
Manage and report on project cost, schedule, safety, quality and risk during construction along with any other significant metrics of project success
Provide local construction input into CAPEX and OPEX estimating activities
Support early-stage project origination and feasibility assessments as Fervo expands beyond Project Cape
Support operations as required
Identify, share, and apply lessons learned and best practices
Required Qualifications A minimum of 8 years of construction planning and execution experience with 5 years direct experience managing the construction of energy projects
Bachelor’s degree in technical field OR significant relevant construction experience (15+ years)
Ability and willingness to travel as required, including to site
Strong leadership skills with ability to communicate cross-functionally
Strong project management expertise and knowledge of industry standards and best practices
Preferred Qualifications Geothermal facilities and transmission interconnection experience
Expertise with a wide range of renewable energy types
Familiarity with subsurface science and drilling
